Laura Lieffring moved to LA from Duluth, MN to pursue her dream of becoming a professional makeup artist who is skilled and knowledgeable in all fields and types of makeup; beauty, high fashion, avante garde, character, hair work (hand laying facial hair, working with wigs & other hair pieces) & hair styling, prosthetics, special effects, and airbrush.
In 2007 she graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth and received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre with an Emphasis in Makeup Design. She worked on almost every production in those four years and designed makeup and hair for shows like, "Kiss Me, Kate", "Handing Down the Names", and "The Heidi Cronicles." She spent one semester abroad studying in Florence, Italy expanding her horizens during which time she had the opportunity to travel all over Europe. Throughout college she always worked multiple jobs. After graduating she spent a year saving up for her big move to California.
In September of 2008 she moved to LA to attend the Cinema Makeup School to further her education in makeup and become a well rounded makeup artist. She attended the Master Makeup Course as well as the Digital FX Course. While at school, she won 1st place in special effects for her makeup design and application. She started school October 27, 2008 and completed school March 13, 2009. She continues to live in the Los Angeles area doing makeup for film, television, print, music videos, commercials, and fashion shows. She does it all. She is hard working, fast, professional, friendly, patient, responsible, easy going, and a total perfectionist.
